Given all the news of spying, please know that after I post this, should I disappear you know what happened…I just hope there will be someone to bail me out.
Ok, so I haven’t been talking national politics in a while, there are many reasons. It’s not because of apathy, though I think discouragement is a word that comes to mind. I think I’ve been playing quiet observer tinged perhaps with a sense of anguish at the current state of affairs. But I have a couple of things I need to jot down. Feel free to skip what follows as it may not make much sense.
So GW is facing disastrous poll numbers and a republican party that seems to be a bubble ready to burst. You have a war that started for wrong reasons (you all know it was, c’mon) and has been snowballing at great costs (I think the amounts of funds are disgusting on so many levels, primarily the human ones). What should he do? What should the people around him do?
He has Condoleeza Rice talk about Iran enriching uranium. He himself talks about Iran enriching uranium. Why cause you want to be seen as proactive, as looking for another “baddie.” So, in an effort to look proactive, I will be very surprised if the following does not happen:
- the US invades Iran six weeks before the mid-term elections in November. Or at the very least, announces its plans for invasion
- another video from Osama bin Laden shows up right before the mid-term elections
- the terror alert level is raised to orange and or red right before the election.
The only thing that GW can do now is scare voters with threats of terror (well he’s done this all along, has he not?). Are we all a little nauseous now? Good, thought you would like to share the feeling with me.
