I have many thoughts rambling in my head…ideas for posts, that is. But every time I sit down to write something down nothing makes sense, or at least I can’t seem to make sense of it enough to publish it as a decent post. Am I falling prey to the self-censor?!?
Well, here’s the “hit list” of thoughts, in no particular order. Feel free to discuss amongst yourselves.
- One of my good friends, L., is moving permanently to Virginia. Even though Virginia is not that far away, but her departure serves as a reminder that nothing is permanent and life is ever-changing. Like one of the seventh graders I worked with today said, “That’s like life, you get a little bad, a little boring, a little hard and then there’s a prize at the end. Then, it begins all over again.” Philosopher of Da Bronx.
- Winter in New York City hasn’t arrived yet and even though the Big Apple dwellers seem quite content at the balmy temperatures, I’m bracing for the worst. We could either have a really decent winter (thank you global warming) and then a scorching summer; or any day now we could be hit with one of those nor’easters.
- Iranian authorities have blocked the BBC Persian website. Could this be an attempt at “warding off” western thought? liberty? isolationism? Click here for more.
- Google is fighting a subpoena for it to release records to the Department of Justice. Meanwhile, it has censored its newly launched Chinese version, in a sense. It has all of the Google features that we know and love save for Gmail and Blogger services. Hmmm.
- Commenting on Musings has taken a sharp drop. So have visits. Why?
