Otto Settembre

September 8th

This is a rather important date in Italian history, as it’s the day we they surrendered in 1943. Though much fighting continued with partisans on one side and fascists on the other, it gave pause to italians everywhere to get on their vespas and say: “Ciao!”

Glad you pointed out this date.
I was only about a year old on this date and all I know from WW II are from News, etc. Some Uncle’s were in WW II however I did not here any stories from them while growing up.

So I liked what Hollywood has portrayed for the Italian history.

Some movies are: ” What did you do in the War Daddy?” James Colburn as star and: “Von Ryan’s Express” with Frank Sinatra.

Both movies had Italians in the war and both movies did not make Italians out to be bad! “CIAO” !
